Fourth WSOP title for Negreanu

2008-06-13 16:05:14

Kid Poker Daniel Negreanu further stamped his position as one of the greatest players of all-time by winning his fourth World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet last night.

The Canadian is now one of 30 players to have won at least four of the coveted titles - and the only one of the lot to also possess two World Poker Tour trophies.

Negreanu took down event 20 - the same $2,000 limit hold'em tournament that he triumphed in four years ago - after defeating Ugur Marangoz in the heads-up.

Writing in his Full Contact Poker blog afterwards, Negreanu said that limit hold'em is a discipline he is particularly good at - adding that the final table seemed to go as smoothly as possible.

With the win, Negreanu re-took his position as the biggest live tournament poker earner never to have won the WSOP main event and moved into third place in the all-time rankings.
